2010

Happy New Year Blog Friends! I hope that everyone had a happy, healthy and fun holiday season!

There is no good excuse for me not posting for the past month. The holidays were crazy, hectic, fun, wonderful and full of too many calories! The good news is that I kept up with my workout schedule. The bad news is that my sweet tooth took control of my brain and I ate more than I burned. Leaving me with a bit of a gain over the holiday.

Confession time. I'm sitting at a 102 pound loss right now. So....that's about a 12 pound gain! I'm disappointed in myself. However, there is no crying over eaten calories. It's time to pick myself up, dust myself off and make smart, healthy choices every day!

In 2008 I lost 80 pounds.

In 2009 I lost 22 pounds. Yes. I'm disappointed with that number considering what I'd hoped for. However, I can't complain over 102 pounds off this bod.

In 2010 my goal is to lose 48 pounds! I know I can do it. I worked hard, but not to my full potential this past 6 months. My body has had time to adjust to the fast loss last year. Now it's time to shed the rest of this.

Resolutions are not my thing. I am going to resolve to live every day to its fullest and enjoy my life.

I do have goals for the year. Yes, maybe that's the same to many of you. However I'm just going to list out things I want to accomplish. This is fairly random and off the top of my head. I may edit as needed, however this way I'll have something to look at when I need a reminder of my goals....

In 2010 I will.....

~ Lose 48 pounds.
~ Continue to weight train 3x per week.
~ Cardio 6-7 days per week.
~ Have a blast on my 40th Bday cruise vacation in June!
~ Get my kids outside for more active play.
~ Log my calories! I know I have better results when I do this.
~ Write daily thoughts in my spiffy new journal I bought. There is something about actually using a pen to write.
~ Write in the boys' journals at least once a week.
~ Ride/Finish the MS City to Shore 75 mile bike ride next October.
~ Complete at least one 5k.
~ Keep my kitchen free of clutter.
~ Go through all the closets in the house and de-clutter things.
~ Be more patient with my husband and children.
~ Organize my digital photos.

I'm sure there are other things that I will think of. When I do I plan to add them to the list as a reminder of my goals.

I'll leave you with the family picture we used on our Christmas cards this year....

  1. Glad to see you are back! 12 pounds is nothing in the face of what you have already lost, and you know what you need to do.

    Love the family photo :D
